Tournament Format

- Twice against the team in the same row from the other group.
- Once against the remaining four teams in the other group.
After the group stage, the top four teams based on aggregate points will qualify for the playoffs.
Playoff Structure
- Qualifier 1 – The top two teams compete; the winner advances directly to the final.
- Eliminator – The 3rd and 4th ranked teams compete; the loser is eliminated.
- Qualifier 2 – The loser of Qualifier 1 faces the winner of the Eliminator; the winner advances to the final.

The IPL Governing Council decided to maintain 74 matches for this season, as in the previous three editions, to help cricketers manage workload. However, the number of matches will be increased to 84 for the next two seasons.
